When it comes to taking the social networking sites and blog world by storm, very few can beat the sexy Poonam Pandey. The controversial babe wrote on her micro-blogging site today, "After a Long time Sharing a Pic with u "Eye Candy" in Next 10 mins," she added further, ""Eye Candy" TWeethearts!!! Love u alll muwaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!!!"  - Poonam Pandey

Few weeks back, she posted another photo in a black bikini supporting the Indian cricket team saying: "Lets support the Indian cricket team, they need that surely in Aus. Play on India we are all with you"

Recently, when Telecom and Information Technology Minister Kapil Sibal urged social media executives to screen content on their websites, Poonam openly opposed it.

When her Facebook account was disabled, she took to Twitter to announce that her profile was disabled because she spoke against screening of content on social networkings.

Why do we say Merry Christmas?

Merry Christmas versus happy Christmas
“Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year” are words commonly heard during the holiday season and are often printed on Christmas cards and gift wrapping. Have you ever wondered why Merry Christmas, rather than Happy Christmas is used as a Christmas greeting?

Laura Legend investigates the terminology “Merry Christmas”…

Merry Christmas is a common phrase exchanged amongst Christians during the holidays. However, religions that have celebrations around Christmas time, like the Jewish Hanukkah, are more inclined to say “Happy Holidays” rather than “Merry Christmas”.

The term Christmas is a translation of the Old English version – Cristes Maesse which is the Mass of Christ.

Under modern day definitions of the word “merry” means gay, cheerful or festive. However, when the saying Merry Christmas first came about, the widely accepted meaning of the word was peaceful or blessed. Thus, wishing someone a Merry Christmas is truly wishing them a blessed or peaceful Mass of Christ.

Christmas, under that definition, is a Christian holiday set aside to celebrate the birth of Christ, the son of God and the savior. The Jewish faith does not view Jesus Christ as the son of God. The believe a savior is coming, the Messiah, but do not grasp the belief that Christ was the Messiah, thus they don’t celebrate Christmas as the Christians do.
Did you know?Christianity and Judaism are the most similar religions in existence as both hold that the Old Testament is the authoritative word of God; however, the New Testament is not accepted in Judaism.

Rather, they celebrate Hanukkah which some people call the Jewish Christmas although it is not similar to Christmas celebrations except that it falls into the holiday season. Hanukkah is a celebration of the rededication of the temple at Jerusalem and gaining of religious freedom to practice Judaism after a long-term occupation of the city.

Thus, while Christians bid you Merry Christmas, those of the Judaism faith will wish you Happy Holidays.

Review: Don 2 has no edge-of-the-seat moments

For an action film with the central plot setting us up for a robbery inside a major bank, Don 2's pacing is very slow, writes Aseem Chhabra.

In his new film Don 2 director Farhan Akhtar takes his time introducing us to his lead, played by Shahrukh Khan. We get a whiff of Khan, a slight sense of his presence, with close shots and shaky hand held camera. There we see his arm, part of his unshaven face, his dark glasses.  As he travels up a meandering river in Thailand, we notice Khan's rather odd looking long hair (a wig, of course), with dreadlocks.  And there is cigarette smoke rolling around his face in slow motion. It is all very sexy and so cool!

Through most of the film Khan is very cool. He often has a twinkle in his eye, a slight mischievous smile, as he speaks dialogues like "Touché" and "Kya karen sweetheart, we are everywhere" (in response to Lara Dutta's startled look on hearing that an Indian is a vice president of a major German bank).  Then there are the Don-isms (Don Says) where he speaks in third person spouting statements like "Don ko pakadna mushqil hee nahih, namumkin hai," and "Don apne doston ka haal puche na puche, apne dushmon ki khabar hamesha rakhta hai."

He walks with a swagger, whether in a Malaysian prison wearing an orange jump suit, or on the dance floor with Dutta. There is a rhythm in his body, as he sways his shoulders and his arms walking up in the Zara Dil Ko Thaam Lo song sequence.

And then how can one forget when Khan strikes the ultimate pose -- the camera captures him at an angle, as he slightly tilts his back, with his arms open sideways. It is King Khan's  signature attempt to remind us that he is the master of the universe.  At least his fans believe that.

A lot of Akhtar's new film is full of such cool elements with sequences set in sumptuous foreign locations -- the French Riviera, the jungles of Thailand, Kuala Lumpur, Zurich and finally Berlin. Don 2 is beautifully shot, well lit and has a very clean look, whether on the streets of Berlin or inside the studio, thanks to Akhtar's terrific cinematographer Jason West.

But then, as with many good intentioned, and technically well crafted Bollywood films, Don 2, fails in the key test. Akhtar is definitely one of the smartest filmmakers in Bollywood, but this time he presents us a story, plot and script that is dull, almost boring. When we are not seeing Khan's swagger, or hearing the hip upbeat background score by Shankar Ehsaan Loy , Don 2 starts to lose steam.

Part of the problem is that despite its action segments, Don 2 is also a Bollywood film and so romance has to be a part of the plot. Towards the end of the film while bullets are flying everywhere, there is an unexpected, almost forced and laughable romantic moment between Khan and his co-star Priyanka Chopra. Everything pauses for the stars to look into each other eyes.

For an action film with the central plot setting us up for a robbery inside a major bank, the film's pacing is very slow.  Coupled with that, the script explains everything to us step-by-step. And if anyone was paying attention, following the convoluted plot where Don always manages to sweet charm the morons at Interpol, in the last five minutes Akhtar sums up the film with a quick recap, revealing many more details that were never shown to us before.  It is an old fashioned gimmick to make the audience say "Wow, we were fooled!"

For a suspense thriller, Don 2 has no edge-of-the-seat moments, despite a decent car chase sequence and a scene when Don jumps off a tall building in Berlin. One big problem is the timing of Don 2's release. Akhtar and his producing partner Ritesh Sidhwani (Khan and his wife Gauri are also listed as producers of the film) chose to release the film during Christmas weekend.  It is too bad that just a week before that, Tom Cruise  released his mega-budget action film of the season Mission: Impossible -- Ghost Protocol (MI4). It is may be wrong to compare the two films, but watching MI4, I had to remind myself to breathe. As I sat through Don 2 -- a wannabe MI4, I was breathing too heavily, frustrated at the slow moving film.

Khan's charming presence aside, Don 2 is packed with uninspired performances by a large supporting cast. First in the line-up is Chopra as Roma, an Interpol officer located in Kuala Lumpur. She is attractive looking, with her big pouting lips, but most of the time Chopra acts like a school girl putting her hands on her forehead in exasperation saying "Damn it," or a character out of an Enid Blyton book, collecting clues to solve the Mystery of the Missing Don

Om Puri, who once was one of the finest actors in India, is such a caricature here. He looks tired as Vishal Malik, Chopra's boss at Interpol. Despite his very Leslie Nielsen appearance, he sounds positively silly, saying dialogues with his heavy throaty voice -- "It's over Don," or simply "It's Don" (as he answers a cell phone.)

Boman Irani  tries hard to look menacing, and he does partially succeed. Kunal Kapoor appears in the second half of the film as a computer hacker, but he is so sweet and good natured, and has a lovely pregnant German girlfriend. We know that nothing bad will happen to Kapoor's Sameer. Don may be a negative character, but Khan is a Bollywood star. He has to have a heart of gold and he cannot do bad things to good people.

All she wants for Christmas! Miranda Kerr models the lingerie husbands should be buying this season

It can be difficult for husbands to choose the perfect lingerie for their wives' Christmas presents.

But who better than stunning Australian model Miranda Kerr to give them some tips on the best smalls to pick out.

The 28-year-old model had stripped off for her sexiest Victoria's Secret shoot yet, donning a selection of figure-flattering underwear for the pictures.

And the shots will no doubt also please her own husband Orlando Bloom, who no doubt has the toughest job of all - choosing underwear to buy for an underwear model.
As well as the lingerie Miranda models, from pink lace and printed red bras and knickers, to a black body and chic nude and black lace number, she is also seen modelling clothes from the US retailer, showing off her figure in a tight pair of skinny jeans and low-cut floral cardigan.
Miranda has been working for Victoria's Secret since 2007, when she became the company's first ever Australian Angel.

And talking about why she likes collaborating with the lingerie and clothing company, Miranda said recently: 'They're about promoting a healthy body image and a curvaceous image so, you know, it’s good, it’s good for us.

'But I do think it’s important for anyone to have [an] exercise regime because then they feel better about themselves.

'It’s just as much a mental thing as it is a physical thing.'

Talking about her eating plan recently, Miranda said: 'The first step is eating healthy. I predominantly eat organic when I can.

'I eat extremely healthy because when I do, I have more energy.

'I love spinach, avocado, lots of greens and broccoli. I'm pretty much 80 percent healthy, 20 percent indulgent, because I don't believe in depriving yourself.'

Miranda, Orlando and son Flynn were seen
arriving in her home country of Australia earlier this week to spend the festive season with her family.

The pair have also been spotted stocking up on some last-minute Christmas presents and food for the big day at Valla Beach's Centro Toormino, where they shopped in Woolworth and K-Mart.

Local resident Pauline told local newspaper the Coffs Coast Advocate: 'All the check-out workers at Woolies had big smiles on their faces, and when we went to KMart they said they'd been there too.'

'This does not come naturally': Molly Sims reveals the secrets to her hard-earned bikini body

Model Molly Sims has stripped off to flaunt her fabulous bikini body on the cover of America's Shape magazine.

But in a refreshingly candid interview, the 38-year-old, who is known for her Sports Illustrated swimsuit covers, admits her incredible physique is the result of more than just good genetics.

While many super slim celebrities claim they can eat whatever they want and never work out, the model puts her body down to hard work.

'This does not come naturally,' admits the Southern-born belle of her cover-worthy physique.

'I have to work out 60 to 90 minutes at least five days a week and stick to a high- fibre, low-calorie eating plan.'

Wearing a lime green bikini with a blue cover-up, Sims explains that until a couple of years ago, her fitness routine was erratic and she was tired of dieting.

Finally, after constant weight fluctuations, she made a resolution that changed her life.

'I wanted to be consistent with my exercise, so I committed to working out for 30 days in a row, no matter what,' she says.

'For an hour every day, I did something. I was on the elliptical or the treadmill, and if someone asked me to go to a class -- whether it was spinning, boxing, yoga, you name it -- I went.'

'By the end of the month, I felt so good, I just kept going. I didn’t want to lose my momentum.'

One of her biggest pieces of advice is for people to completely commit to an exercise routine -- even if they only have 15 minutes. '

Whether it's time on the treadmill or an upper-body routine, you just have to get that heart rate up and keep it there,' Sims says.

The model recently said 'I do' to movie producer Scott Stuber, 42, at the Frank Cafaretta Vineyard in Napa Valley in front of family and friends.

Stuber has produced such films as Love and Other Drugs and The Break Up, popped the question to Sims in May.

Why is Katrina Kaif 'Chikni Chameli'?

After Sheila, Munni, Shalu and Jalebi Bai, 'Chikni Chameli' is the latest item bomb in Bollywood. Katrina Kaif has outdone her 'Sheila ki jawani' act in the song, and "Agneepath" director Karan Malhotra believes she has done full justice to it.

"I think the way the song was made, it was so wonderful, that only a topmost actress could have done justice to the song. And as far as Katrina is concerned, her USP is that she has never been seen in any film in that kind of zone that 'Chikni Chameli' is in. So which is why she also stands out in that atmosphere and that is why the song is catching a lot of eyeballs," the director said at the music premiere of "Agneepath" at a radio station here.

The men behind the song are composer-brothers Ajay-Atul, primarily known for their work in Marathi films and serials. "Chikni chameli" is a song inspired by their own Marathi song "Kombadi palali".

No wonder Malhotra denies that the song draws inspiration from any other item number.

"No, no girl inspired us for 'Chikni chameli'," said Malhotra.
Meanwhile, Katrina's fast, rhythmic 'Chikni chameli' act has set many eyeballs popping. "Agneepath", a remake of the 1990 film of the same name, is set for release Jan 26 next year.

It stars Hrithik Roshan in the lead with Sanjay Dutt, Priyanka Chopra and Rishi Kapoor in key roles.

Just married! Backstreet Boys star AJ McLean and new wife flash sparkling wedding rings

Backstreet Boys star AJ McLean his new wife flashed their dazzling wedding rings for the first time last night.

The 33-year-old singer and model bride Rochelle DeAnna Karidis proudly revealed their co-ordinated diamond encrusted bands.

The tattooed newlyweds were clearly in a state of wedded bliss, exchanging kisses as they made their way into the Guns N' Roses concert in Los Angeles.

They were not the only familiar faces in the audience - Jim Carrey and his mystery girlfriend also attended the gig.

The boyband star and the model exchanged vows under gazebo on the Crystal Lawn at the Beverly Hills Hotel on Saturday.

Fellow band members Nick Carter, Howie Dorough, Brian Littrell, and  former member Kevin Richardson were believed to have attended.

AJ - who proposed back in January last year - posted excited tweets the day before the ceremony, which was officiated by his pal and celebrity photographer Tyler Shields on Saturday.

On Friday he took to Twitter, posting: 'Wedding is tomorrow. Ro and I could barely sleep last night. I think we're a little excited.'

Following the service, guests continued the celebrations at the hotel's Crystal ballroom for a goth-inspired evening of food and dance.

AJ and Rochelle recently moved from Hollywood to the Valley area of Los Angeles to live in a bigger home in preparation to start a family.

However, speaking earlier this year he said he is in no big rush to start having children.

'I think we'll be married for about three years before we have kids,' he explained.

Back in January, McLean checked himself into rehab to seek treatment for substance abuse.

It came just two months after the singer, whose real name is Alexander James, and his the Backstreet Boys announced plans to stage a comeback.

He has been in rehab twice before, once in 2001 and again in 2002, for addiction to alcohol and cocaine.
